We are an interdisciplinary liberal arts program within the Barefield College of Arts & Sciences, and we offer three distinct programs:

New College

Our original model and flagship program, New College gives highly motivated undergraduates a way to design their own majors — called “depth studies” — leading to BA or BS degrees. These individualized courses of study let students build academic programs that are consistent with their interests, goals, aptitudes, temperaments, and skills. Depth studies include New College seminars, coursework from across the University, and often research activities, community-based learning, and self-directed study.

LifeTrack

LifeTrack is an interdisciplinary degree program designed for adult learners. An online program, LifeTrack allows students to blend several areas of academic interest into a curriculum that suits their needs and lifestyle.

Applied Liberal Arts & Sciences

The Applied Liberal Arts & Sciences program (ALA&S) offers eligible undergraduates who are struggling to progress in their current major programs a path toward graduation by combining two existing minors.
